Otto Bock HealthCare Introduces Their Latest Innovation in Orthotic Design
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA January 8, 2007 – Otto Bock HealthCare introduces the Carbon Ankle Seven. The latest in their line of innovative orthotic products, the Carbon Ankle Seven gives patients an orthosis that returns more energy for walking and uniquely fits their natural movements.
“Carbon Ankle Seven gives Orthotists a new way of looking at AFOs because it actually returns energy to the wearer,” said Jeff Ashenbrenner, Market Manager, Orthotics. “We see this as an innovative solution for a huge population of patients.”
The Carbon Ankle Seven was designed with the natural walking pattern of the human foot to help achieve a more natural gait pattern. It is designed with seven degrees of outward rotation so that it aligns with the patient’s physiology and replaces the traditional orthotic ankle joints.
Manufactured from lightweight carbon fiber, it returns energy to help improve the gait cycle and avoids abrupt stopping that can occur with traditional orthotic ankle joints.
Minnesota-based Otto Bock HealthCare LLP was established in 1958 as the Americas corporate headquarters of Otto Bock HealthCare, GmbH, based in Duderstadt, Germany.
