OTTO BOCK PATIENT COMFORT LINE OFFERS OUTSTANDING NEW OPTIONS

1/30/2002

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA November 8th, 2001 -

Otto Bock Health Care, developer of the revolutionary C-Leg Knee/shin and Transcarpal hand prostheses, has recently released a Patient Comfort collection of high-quality products designed to improve patient comfort, including Technogel™ and Silicone Gel Socket Liners.

Highly durable Technogel™ Liners are composed of a unique, aliphatic polyurethane that combines the best performance features of other liner materials without their skin-sensitizing potential. Technogel liners are easy to apply without the need for lubricants, and have terrific shape retention during loading.

Silicone Gel liners, on the other hand, are made of a highly resilient, silicone gel laminated into an integrated cloth cover. Silicone Gel liners were designed to provide patients who prefer silicone with a tough alternative, and work in tandem with Technogel liners to provide a second, interchangeable, high-suspension liner for sport or leisure wear. Both liners incorporate fabric composed of the strongest fiber in the world, which allows Otto Bock to guarantee each liner for six months individually or both liners for 12 months when purchased as a pair.

“We’re excited to have entered the highly competitive liner market with such unique products,” says Pat Chelf, Otto Bock’s VP of Marketing. “And we’re especially proud of the superb design work that’s gone into these liners, which has been able to target skin health, patient security, and unmatched liner durability, while creating a solid business opportunity for practitioners.”

Besides socket liners, the Patient Comfort System includes a complete line of limb and compression socks, suspension products, Technogel Soft Pad fabrication kits, and shuttle locks.
