Mobility and Freedom of Movement -
The 17H100 Bi-axial RGO Hip Joint System

At a Glance

  • Easy-to-use modular system
  • Separate components allow the orthosis to grow with the user
  • Torsion-proof aluminum-alloyed pelvic tube allows for modular connection of joints
  • Allows for a pelvic rotation of 15° in the orthosis without changing the walking direction
  • Push-pull cable system facilitates smooth and maintenance-free power transmission when walking
  • Sitting joint lock releases with pre-release of the locking mechanism
  • Safety button to re-lock joint in case sitting joint is accidentally released
  • Choice between thermoplastic or laminate for the custom pelvic module
  • Torso bar hip flexion can be adjusted up to 10°
  • Prefabricated aluminum-alloy thigh bars with 0 mm, 5 mm or 10 mm offset available

The connection between the leg bars and the hip module is especially important for fitting with Reciprocating Gait Orthoses (RGOs). Our innovative new RGO Hip Joint System achieves a pelvic rotation that, to a large degree, matches physiological rotation when walking with the orthosis. Thanks to the development of our bi-axial joint construction, a pelvic rotation of 15° is possible without having to change walking direction. The results: less effort and an improved gait cycle.
