What is neurostimulation?

Neurostimulation is the effect on the nervous system using electric impulses.

Neurostimulation is the effect on the nervous system using electric impulses. Stimulation either takes place indirectly via electrodes located on the skin, or directly on the nerve using an implant. The therapy goal is to reestablish motor functions that were impaired due to damage to the brain or spinal cord. The main focus of our therapy is rehabilitation after a stroke or in case of paraplegia.

Treatment with the surface stimulator STIWELL med4 complements conventional physical therapy.  Functional therapeutic electro-stimulation (functional electrotherapy, FET) supports the process of re-establishing lost movement patterns.

With our commitment to neurostimulation, we now bring our expertise and the special quality of Otto Bock products to the neurological rehabilitation field.
