FreeWalk Starter Kit FAQs
1. What is a starter kit?
It is a proprietary tool kit used to capture initial information about the patient’s shape and consists of tools needed to work with tubular stainless steel. (That is what the FreeWalk is made out of).
2. Do I need a starter kit to fit a FreeWalk?
Yes. With the kit you will be able to make adjustments in your facility that will ensure that the patient takes delivery of the orthosis at fitting.
3. What if one of our other facilities has a starter kit?
We will need to establish that they do have a starter kit. Once that has been done we can proceed with the order without requiring that you purchase a starter kit. You need to procure the kit for the initial fitting.
4. What is in the kit?
Tools used to contour tubular stainless steel without making it collapse (three-point bending tool and anterior band bending tool), drilling fixture for stirrup attachment, tracing tool, tape measures, bending aids, padding needed for casting or tracing, and soft jaws for the vice.
5. Is the kit expensive?
The kit includes coupons that will completely offset the price of the starter kit when you have fit three FreeWalks. The kit costs $600, but each coupon is valued at $200.
