3R90 / 3R92

Live Life to the Fullest - Two Ways!

Our single-axis 3R90 and 3R92 knee joints are equipped with a load-dependent braking mechanism that offers the user increased security while providing two options for swing phase control.

Here's how they work: At heel contact, the brake is activated and stabilizes the prosthesis throughout the entire loading response phase of stance. But where conventional friction-brake knee joints must be unweighted for release, the brake in the 3R90 and 3R92 actually releases during forefoot loading so that the user can easily initiate swing phase without having to "hip-hike".

While both knees have the same style of braking mechanism, swing phase in the 3R90 is friction controlled and includes a mechanical extension assist, making it the perfect choice for those patients who needmore stability. Swing phase in the 3R92, on the other hand, is controlled by a dual chamber pneumatic cylinder, and is ideal for patients who can vary their cadence.

The result is smooth, secure walking that saves energy for the user, while also offering a more natural gait.

IMPROVED TECHNOLOGY MAKES THEM EASY TO MANAGE

Our innovative bearing system minimizes wear and friction, resulting in better functional stability while extending the life of the joint. The swing phase is easy to adjust, too:

3R90 with integrated mechanical extension assist (Fig. 1) Press the adjustment unit and turn to engage any one of five adjustment settings.

3R92 with progressively acting dual-chamber pneumatic system (Fig. 2) Extension and Flexion resistance can be controlled independently, with easy to adjust control screws.

OTHER ADVANTAGES OF 3R90 AND 3R92

  • The excellent stability provided by the weight-activated brake of the 3R90 and 3R92 makes it easy for patients to switch over from a 3R15 or 3R49.

  • Both the 3R90 and 3R92 offer an improvement over conventional friction-brake knee joints because they release during forefoot loading, allowing the user to initiate swing phase without having to hip-hike.

  • The 3R90 offers friction control of swing phase and includes an internal extension assist.

  • The 3R92 controls swing phase with a dual chamber pneumatic cylinder.

  • Both joints are rated up to 275 lbs (125 kg) to give you an increased fitting range.

  • Durable plastic cover protects the internal mechanism as well as the external foam cover.

  • Easy to align: The blue alignment disk (Fig. 3) is marked in 5 mm increments. Simply place the reference line over rings 1, 2, or 3 to obtain the recommended alignment.

  • The 34mm tube adapter is included for added value.

MOBIS® MOBILITY SYSTEM RANGE OF APPLICATION

MOBIS® is the latest generation of the Otto Bock Classification System.® In MOBIS we've added a weight class as well as a mobility grade, and indicate them with the convenient MOBIS symbol, making it easy for you to select the right functional and structural components.

  • 3R90 recommended for US K-Levels 1 and 2

  • 3R92 recommended for US K-Level 3 only

Both knees are designed for patient weights up to 275 lb (125 kg).

Note: The Otto Bock MOBIS Mobility System is NOT intended to be used in the U.S.A as a guide to obtaining reimbursement for prosthetic components.
