Proportional DMC Plus Hands and Greifers

A New Fitting Solution

MyoBock® hand offerings have expanded to include a new intermediate size, (7) perfect for small-framed adults or teens for whom larger hands are simply too much. The new size hands are designed to provide maximum function while delivering a pleasing, proportional cosmetic finish.

Size Seven Hand available in DMC and Digital Twin
8E38=6-R/L7 and =7-R/L7 Quick Disconnect
8E39=6-R/L7 and =7-R/L7 Lamination Ring

DMC Plus Hand

With Dynamic Mode Control (DMC) Plus, two independent measurement and regulating systems proportionally control speed and grip force at all opening widths. Speed and grip force are determined by the level of the muscle signal. Should the muscle signal vary, speed and grip force are proportional to the changed muscle signal. This relationship between muscle signal and speed and grip force more closely mimics the natural hand. The energy-saving 8E38=6, 8E39=6, and 8E41=6 Otto Bock System Electric Hands are controlled by two electrodes, either the 13E68 or the 13E125. The System Electric Hand DMC Plus can be operated with the Otto Bock Lithium Ion EnergyPacks battery technology.

The DMC Plus is appropriate for all amputation levels above wrist disarticulation. The DMC Plus control contains a DMC and a DMC Plus control mode. After gripping once with maximum force in the DMC Plus control mode, the EMG signal required to open the hand will be slightly higher. This reduces the risk of the hand opening due to unintentional muscle contraction.

The integrated 13E185 Function Plug is used to select the desired control mode. The Electric Hand DMC Plus can be operated with the 757B20/757B21 Otto Bock Lithium Ion EnergyPacks or with the 757B8 Battery. Proportional DMC

Features central coaxial plug connection, electronic control with battery-saver circuit and integrated on-off switch, low-friction bevel gear, positive back lock, system inner hand, and slip-clutch for patient safety.

With the DMC Plus system, two independent measurement and regulating systems proportionally control speed and grip force.

With our new control concept the System Electric Greifer DMC VariPlus now adapts even better to users' needs. And because the controls are largely compatible with those of the SensorHand Speed, it's easy for users to switch between devices without spending a lot of time getting used to them.

New microprocessors and optimized signal processing allow the System Electric Greifer DMC VariPlus to be controlled even more precisely.
The Greifer responds to the muscle signals accurately and quickly. In combination with its high maximal grip force and its robust design, this Greifer is an ideal tool for any skilled handiwork!

The System Electric Greifer DMC VariPlus is based on the Otto Bock DMC System (DMC = Dynamic Mode Control): This system, which has been developed by Otto Bock, uses two independent measurement and control systems in order to optimally adapt the grip speed and grip force to the patient's muscle signal.

Thanks to the high maximal grip force, the unique grip kinematics and the precise control, the Greifer is ideal for:

  • Quick and precise gripping
  • Handling of heavy objects
  • Special gripping functions

Especially for these situations, the System Electric Greifer has the ideal features:

  • Universal adjustment of the grip surface by rotating the fingertips
  • Passive wrist joint allowing flexion, pronation and supination which permits functional operation in all three planes.

For optimal adaptation to the patient there are 6 control modes, which can be selected and adjusted using the 757T13 MyoSelect.
