C-Brace process

Patient evaluation

A physician referral is required before a patient can be evaluated for the C‑Brace. Every C‑Brace is custom made and designed by an Orthotist for a patient’s specific anatomy and indication. There are hundreds of certified Orthotists in North America. Click here to find one near you.

Patient fitting

Once an Orthotist has conducted a trial and determined the patient is a candidate for the C‑Brace, they are casted. The patient then receives a definitive test orthosis (DTO) where any final adjustments can be made. After a successful fitting of the DTO, the patient receives their C‑Brace.

PT training

Physical therapy is an essential part of the C‑Brace process to ensure patient success. Training includes improving balance, coordination, and muscle strength, as well as teaching the patient to walk and use the C‑Brace safely on uneven terrain, inclines, declines, and stairs.
