AUSTIN, TX (January, 2015) ̶ Ottobock is pleased to announce the hire of Albert (Al) Li as General Counsel for Ottobock North America. In his new position, Li is responsible for managing all legal, regulatory and compliance matters for Ottobock North America, including the support of corporate/tax, employment, dispute resolution, business development, quality/regulatory, intellectual property, international, healthcare, commercial and compliance initiatives, as well as managing its legal department and legal operations. He is also a member of the Ottobock North America Regional Management Team.

Li comes to Ottobock following more than six years as a key member of the legal team at Zimmer Holdings, Inc., a global, leading orthopedic and musculoskeletal implants and devices company. Prior to Zimmer, he served as the general counsel for the Spine and Point-of-Care Diagnostics divisions of Abbott Laboratories and also as a partner at the global law firm DLA Piper where he practiced corporate and securities law for software, semiconductor, manufacturing, high-technology, medical and life sciences and services clients. Li graduated magna cum laude from the University of California (Los Angeles) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and was awarded his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University School of Law.
