Ottobock to sponsor a Fitness Revolution at the Amputee Coalition National Conference

The Fitness Revolution will feature renowned adaptive fitness trainer and retired NFL linebacker David Vobora.

AUSTIN, Texas (July 3, 2017) — Ottobock HealthCare is sponsoring a Fitness Revolution event on Wednesday, August 2, from 4–7 p.m. at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The event, which is being held the evening before the opening of the Amputee Coalition National Conference, will feature retired NFL linebacker and renowned adaptive fitness trainer David Vobora.

Vobora is the founder of the Adaptive Training Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to empowering the human athlete, restoring hope through movement, and redefining the limits of individuals with disabilities. Through individually customized performance training, Vobora helps people with disabilities move beyond functional rehabilitation to active participation in adaptive sports.

During this unique three-hour event, Vobora will share his inspirational story of turning failure and adversity into a life of purpose and action. In addition to hearing Vobora’s story, attendees will have the opportunity to view Ottobock product demonstrations and trial various products from Ottobock’s robust fitness prosthetics portfolio. Other leaders in the adaptive fitness community will also be on hand to share their stories.

“Ottobock is a committed sponsor of the Amputee Coalition National Conference,” said Matthew Swiggum, Regional President and CEO of Ottobock HealthCare North America. “We can’t think of a better way to kick off this year’s National Conference than with an Ottobock Fitness Revolution event featuring David Vobora.”

The Amputee Coalition National Conference, taking place August 3–5 at the Galt House in Louisville, Kentucky, is the largest gathering of people affected by limb loss in the world. The event gives attendees the chance to meet or reconnect with friends, attend educational sessions that cover everything from the practical to the theoretical, and get hands-on experience with new technologies and activities.

The Fitness Revolution featuring David Vobora is open to the public and free of charge for attendees. Individuals with limb loss or limb difference are encouraged to attend. For more information or to register, go to https://fitrev-louisville.eventbrite.com.
