Introducing Ottobock’s latest innovation in spine technology for the NA market

Spinal stenosis patients can achieve improvement through movement with Dyneva™

AUSTIN, Texas, (September 5, 2017) – Ottobock HealthCare, a world-leading supplier of innovative solutions for people with limited mobility, introduces the latest addition to its spinal orthotics product line, the Dyneva™ back orthosis.

Now available to patients in the United States and Canada, the Dyneva product is notable because it is a dynamic flexion orthosis controlled by a spring mechanism that extends the entire spinal column during movement. Dyneva focuses on promoting physical activity, which helps patients maintain a normal lifestyle.

With its unique spring mechanism, Dyneva significantly reduces the compression of the motion segments and facet joints caused by muscle tension during movement and reduces the load on the lumbar spine. The orthosis functionally controls the segments of the lumbar spine enabling patients to walk longer distances without pain and enjoy a more fluid gait.

“Unlike conventional braces, the Dyneva focuses on promoting physical activity and helping patients maintain a normal lifestyle,” stated Chris Nolan, Vice President of Orthotics for Ottobock North America. “Currently, patients who suffer from spinal stenosis have limited options such as medication, physical therapy, and surgery. Ottobock is proud to offer an alternative solution for patients encouraging them to live a more active, pain free life.”

The product only needs to be worn during active movement, is easy to slip on and take off, and encourages strong patient compliance because of its open-back construction.
